Obituary for
Paul Richard Franklin
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paul Richard Franklin of Cold Lake, AB announces his passing on Friday, October 28, 2016 in Zaruma, Ecuador at the age of 64 years.
In 1978, Paul and his family moved to Cold Lake to pursue his dream and open Select Furniture. Paul built a successful business, which became a Brick franchise in 2002. This allowed him time to pursue his other passions including woodworking, photography and, of course coffee. “What better pleasure than to relax with a great cup of coffee?”
He passed while building his dream home in Ecuador.
Paul was a kind, compassionate and generous man. He is lovingly survived by Diane Franklin of Elk Point; his two daughters: Genine Franklin (Steve Donnelly) of Cold Lake and Paula Franklin of Cold Lake; three grandchildren: Skye Franklin, Ashton Brown and Kendra Brown; brother: Terry (Dawn) Franklin of Lindsay, ON; three sisters: Judy (Ray) Wilson of Meaford, ON, Darlene (Dan) White of Meaford, ON and Marsha Franklin (Andrew Postings) of Meaford, ON; Chico the cat; as well as numerous nephews, nieces & other relatives.
Paul was predeceased by his parents: Robert & Jean Franklin; sister: Debbie Esaryk; nephew: Jeff Lidstone.
A gathering will take place Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church in Cold Lake, AB with Pastor Phil Crump officiating. The final resting place will take place at a later date.
Memorial tributes in memory of Paul may be sent to Food Bank at the Community Baptist Church, 4716-49 Avenue, Cold Lake, AB T9M 1R4.
