It is with heavy hearts that the family of Metro Shymchuk announces his passing on Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Bonnyville, Alberta at the age of 90 years.
Metro is lovingly survived by his brother: Peter (Veronka) Shymchuk of Iron River, AB; two sisters: Mary Sashuk of Bonnyville, AB, Ann Ferrill of Seattle, WA, USA; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins; special friend: Vicky Queja.
Metro was predeceased by his parents: William & Fidocha Shymchuk; infant sister: Leda; two brothers-in-law: Bill Sashuk & Charlie Ferrill.
Funeral Service, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bonnyville, AB with Reverend Father Peter Haugen officiating. Cross Bearer: Orest Shymchuk.
Pallbearers: David Sashuk, Terry Sashuk, Daniel Caouette, Don Shymchuk, Richard Shymchuk, Colin Samchuk. Final resting place, St. Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Sandy Rapids, AB.
