Verna Marie Paulin (Morriss)
On Sunday, February 5, 2017 Verna Marie Paulin passed away peacefully in Cold Lake, Alberta at the age of 86 years with her family by her side. Verna was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Ludovic,son Michael, and parents George and Alberta Morriss and four brothers, Leonard, Raymond, Victor and Cecil. Mom is lovingly survived by her son Richard (Marina), daughter Celeste (George) and daughter Brenda (Tony), eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Verna loved cats and her small dog, Shchulyzy, who she missed greatly. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, reading and crossword puzzles. She saw and lived in much of Canada as wife of an Air Force serviceman. Verna made many friends while living in various military housing on bases across Canada. She was courted on a motorcycle and continued to enjoy motorcycling throughout her married life. She served in leadership roles with the Girl Guides of Canada, Roman Catholic Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion. All who knew mom enjoyed listening to her sing and play the music she loved. She sang for many years with the Sweet Adelines of Victoria, BC. Mom will be greatly missed but our loving memories of her will remain dear.
